Dr. Priyanka Bhowmik

Graduated from Maharaja Bir Bikram College, Agartala, with Economics Honors and completed MA/M.Sc in Economics from Tripura University as batch topper, Dr. Priyanka Bhowmik pursued her Doctorate degree from Tripura University. The title of her doctorate thesis is “Effect of Household Wellbeing on the Status of Reproductive and Child Health: A Study of Rural Tripura” under the supervision of Prof. Salim Shah. Her area of interest is Health Economics. Before joining the Techno India University, Tripura, she worked as Guest Faculty at the Department of Economics in Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College, Belonia. She has also worked as Research Assistant in the project entitled “Women Empowerment under the Sixth Scheduled Areas: A Comparative Study of the Noth-eastern States”, as the State Supervisor of Tripura in the project entitled “Status of Policing in India Report2020” for Lokniti undertaken by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), as a Research fellow in the project entitled “Evaluation of State Finances of Tripura” sponsored by Fourteenth Finance Commission, Government of India and as a Research Assistant and Field Investigator in the project entitled “An Evaluation of State Finances of Tripura (2006-07 to 2016-17)” sponsored by Fifteenth Finance Commission, Government of India.
