Mr. Abir Debnath is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Techno India University Tripura. Mr. Debnath is passionate for education, research, and technological innovation. Mr. Debnath has prior experience at WIPRO as a network administrator, an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology Agartala, where he completed his M.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence with emphasis on medical image processing for Diabetic Retinopathy detection and classification. Mr. Debnath’s academic and research interests encompass computer vision for robotics and Object Detection - Tracking under various lighting conditions for military application. This holds paramount importance in developing better systems for target acquisition and identification of friend and foe in the battlefield. Developing advanced algorithms for real-time surveillance, target detection and engagement, autonomous navigation of ground drones, USV and UAVs. His professional expertise extends to developing end to end solutions for AI applications, bridging the gap between model development and deployment. He represented NIT Agartala on several occasions. Additionally, he had also visited other institutes of national importance with his research group to conduct workshops on visual intelligence and edge devices. Guided by a vision of fostering creativity, critical thinking and frugal engineering, Mr. Debnath emphasizes experiential and project-based learning to encourage students to solve real-world challenges, he also actively participated in outreach programs for school students. He is also the faculty in charge of Charles Babbage Lab.
