Dr. Smita Majumder

Dr. Smita Majumder is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences at Techno India University, Tripura. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry and has served as a National Post-Doctoral Fellow (NPDF) under the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB-DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.\\r\\nShe completed her B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. from Tripura University in 2007, 2010, and 2014, respectively. As a Post-Doctoral Fellow, she successfully executed a funded project titled “Oxo-rhenium(V) tetrapyrrolic complexes and Re-porphyrin conjugates: Synthesis, Application, and Theoretical Calculations” with a grant of ₹20 lakhs, contributing significantly to the field of coordination and organometallic chemistry.\\r\\nWith over seven years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Majumder has taught in several reputed institutions including Tripura University, Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College, Techno College of Engineering, Agartala, and NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology), Arunachal Pradesh.\\r\\nHer research interests encompass Coordination Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Transition Metal Complexes, Organometallic Compounds, Nano-chemistry, and Theoretical Chemistry. She has published more than 15 research papers in SCI and Scopus-indexed international journals, authored two book chapters, and continues to contribute actively to collaborative research.\\r\\nKnown for her innovative and research-integrated teaching approach, Dr. Majumder effectively bridges fundamental chemical principles with modern applications, fostering curiosity and scientific temper among students. Her work exemplifies TIUT’s commitment to academic excellence, scientific advancement, and interdisciplinary research leadership in Northeast India.
