Mr. Lokesh Chakma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Techno India University, Tripura. He holds an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Visva-Bharati University, where he secured First Class First Position, and a B.A. (Hons.) in English from the University of Calcutta. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication at Visva-Bharati, with research focusing on New Media, Digital Storytelling, and Regional OTT Platforms.\\r\\nMr. Chakma brings together academic expertise and field experience through his work across higher education, documentary production, and media research. Prior to joining TIUT, he served as Assistant Professor and Resource Person at Sidho Kanho-Birsha University, contributing to curriculum development and postgraduate teaching. His professional engagements include significant roles in oral history documentation with the 1947 Partition Archive, where he conducted over 60 in-depth interviews with survivors across West Bengal, and visual storytelling initiatives with the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI), amplifying the narratives of underrepresented rural communities.\\r\\nHis scholarly work includes research papers and book chapters published with IGI Global, Global Media Journal, and other reputed publishers, addressing themes such as social media influence on content consumption, gender and communication, OTT media evolution, and media pedagogy.\\r\\nFluent in English, Bengali, and Hindi, Mr. Chakma’s teaching integrates traditional journalistic ethics with modern digital communication practices. His pedagogical interests lie in Communication Research, New Media Studies, and Visual Communication, and he frequently conducts workshops on content creation, mobile journalism, and video production.\\r\\nBeyond academics, his interests in photography, reading, and cultural documentation complement his scholarly vision. Through his multifaceted engagement with media education, Mr. Chakma exemplifies TIUT’s dedication to fostering creative, analytical, and socially conscious media professionals, contributing to its standing as a leading university in Tripura and Northeast India.
