Dr. Lovely Rahaman

Dr. Lovely Rahaman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology, School of Health Science and Translation Research at Techno India University, Tripura. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and possesses strong expertise in Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Biochemistry, and Medical Microbiology.\\r\\nHer research primarily focuses on natural bioactive compounds, bacterial biofilms, and antimicrobial therapy, with an emphasis on identifying novel therapeutic strategies derived from secondary metabolites and microbial interactions. Dr. Rahaman’s curiosity-driven approach reflects her deep interest in exploring the unseen dynamics of microorganisms and their intricate relationships with plants and human systems.\\r\\nShe has served as Principal Investigator (PI) of a DST-funded Women Scientist-A Project (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India) worth ₹22 lakhs, focusing on natural compounds and microbial biofilms. Her scientific contributions include eight peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals and active participation in microbiology research networks.\\r\\nWith over one and a half years of academic and research experience, Dr. Rahaman has taught diverse subjects including Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Phycology, Immunology, Biochemistry, and Medical Microbiology. Her pedagogical approach integrates foundational microbiology with contemporary advancements in biotechnology and applied sciences.\\r\\nDr. Rahaman is deeply committed to fostering research-driven learning and guiding students toward scientific inquiry. She continues to contribute to the advancement of biological sciences through her research, publications, and mentorship, aligning with TIUT’s mission of promoting innovation, sustainability, and translational research excellence in Northeast India.
