Mr. Indranil Modak

Mr. Indranil Modak serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology, School of Health Science and Translation Research, at Techno India University, Tripura. He is a passionate researcher in Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology, currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata, one of India’s premier research institutions.\r\nHis doctoral research focuses on the molecular mechanisms governing mammalian cell division, with a particular emphasis on DNA replication, repair pathways, and post-translational protein modifications—key processes that underpin genomic stability and cancer biology. His work aims to elucidate fundamental biological processes that have direct implications for therapeutic research and biomedical innovation.\r\nMr. Modak completed his B.Sc. in Genetics from the Institute of Genetic Engineering, where he was awarded a Gold Medal for securing the top position in his class, followed by an M.Sc. in Genetics from the West Bengal University of Technology. He has also qualified several prestigious national-level examinations, including CSIR-UGC NET (2016), JGEEBILS (2016), and GATE (2017), demonstrating his strong academic foundation and research aptitude.\r\nWith over seven years of laboratory experience in experimental biology, he brings valuable practical expertise to the classroom, integrating research-based teaching with hands-on learning. His areas of academic interest include Genomics, Proteomics, and Medical Biotechnology, and he continues to engage in active research, with manuscripts currently in progress for publication.\r\nMr. Modak’s teaching philosophy is grounded in curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. Through his dedication to research and education, he aims to inspire the next generation of life science students while contributing to Techno India University’s mission of excellence in translational research and higher education in Tripura.
