Dr. Tandra Sarkar

Dr. Tandra Sarkar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Application, School of Engineering & Architecture, at Techno India University, Tripura. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Tripura University, where her research focused on “A Study on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set-Based Hybrid Approach on Image Processing.” She also earned her M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Tripura University and her Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Dr. MGR University, Chennai.\r\nDr. Sarkar’s research interests lie in Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Fuzzy Logic, and Problem-Based Learning. She has published multiple research papers in Springer and UGC CARE-listed journals, including works on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets, Image Segmentation, and Face Detection Techniques. Her current work explores intelligent hybrid models and region-based image analysis methods for computer vision.\r\nBefore joining TIUT, Dr. Sarkar served in the Department of Information Technology at Tripura University and participated in numerous AICTE ATAL Faculty Development Programs, conferences, and workshops. She was also the Tripura representative at the Symposium for Young Women Engineers on Technologies for Sustainable Development in the North Eastern Region at Tezpur University, Assam.\r\nAt TIUT, she teaches core computer science subjects including Programming in C, Data Structures and Algorithms, Network Fundamentals, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, and Image Processing. She emphasizes interactive, problem-oriented learning that promotes innovation, critical thinking, and applied knowledge.\r\nBeyond her academic endeavours, Dr. Sarkar is actively involved in social service through the organization Add life and nurtures creative interests such as music and cultural engagement.\r\nWith her blend of research expertise, pedagogical innovation, and dedication to community enrichment, Dr. Tandra Sarkar continues to contribute significantly to advancing engineering education and research excellence at TIUT, strengthening the university’s reputation as a centre of technological innovation and learning in Tripura.\r\n
